On Tuesday, Rich Rodriguez and the West Virginia Mountaineers added a talented player through the transfer portal with the addition of former Princeton offensive tackle Will Reed.
Reed, a 6-foot-6, 305-pound tackle from Redmond, Washington, spent the previous four seasons as a veteran member of Princeton’s offensive line.
“Take Me Home,” Reed wrote on X. “Extremely grateful for this opportunity!! Thank you to Princeton and all the friends, family, teammates, and coaches who keep me going.”
Coming out of Eastside Catholic High School in the Class of 2021, Reed was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 635th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 51st-ranked player at his position and the 13th-ranked player in the state of Washington.
An impressive player in his class, Reed received offers from a total of 26 different offers. He chose the Tigers over offers from Michigan, Colorado, Kansas, Tennessee, Utah, Washington State, and more. After four seasons with the program, Reed was listed as the 681st-ranked player in the transfer portal and the 59th-ranked player at his position.
With his commitment, he became West Virginia’s 30th addition through the transfer portal and the fifth addition on the offensive line. He joins the likes of Robby Martin, Wyatt Minor, Ty’Kieast Crawford, and Walter Bear Young, who all previously committed to West Virginia.
