On Wednesday night, Dave Aranda and the Baylor Bears added a new player through the Class of 2026 with the commitment of four-star wide receiver London Smith.

Smith, a 6-foot, 175-pound wideout from Waco, Texas, chose the hometown Bears over offers from 24 different programs, including Texas, Texas A&M, Oregon, Alabama, and more.

Coming out of University High School in the Class of 2026, Smith is listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 169th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 26th-ranked player at his position and the 21st-ranked player in the state of Texas.

In three years of high school football, Smith established himself as one of the best wideouts in the state of Texas. He posted 132 catches for 2102 yards and 22 scores from 2022-2024.

In addition to his impressive statistics, Smith comes from an incredibly athletic family. His father, Rodney Smith, was a three-year starter at Baylor from 1996-1999 and ranks eighth all-time in total tackles, while his mother, Stacey Smith, was a National Champion in 1999 at triple jump before going on to represent the United States at the ’99 World Championships.

With his commitment, Smith became the Bears’ fourth pickup in the Class of 2026, alongside RB Ryelan Morris, OT Kole Seaton, and QB Quinn Murphy.
