The 2025 Reese’s Senior Bowl practices have wrapped up, bringing us one step closer to one of the biggest opportunities for NFL prospects to raise their draft stock.
The Senior Bowl is one of the best ways for under-recognized athletes to get their name out there ahead of the NFL Combine and, ultimately, the NFL Draft.
There were several players who stood out, for better or for worse, over the course of the week, and the Big 12 had a couple of names included in Pro Football Focus’s biggest risers and fallers from the week of practice.
One of the biggest risers of the week was TCU wide receiver Jack Bech, who stood out from the other pass catchers on the American team this week.
“Bech was easily the best wide receiver on the American team all week. He showed excellent route-running ability, made several contested catches and displayed a willingness to compete in the run game,” PFF’s Dalton Wasserman writes. “Bech’s performance was consistent with his breakout season at TCU this year. He tallied his first 1,000-yard season and an 83.1 PFF receiving grade while dropping just one pass all year. His well-rounded skill set should give him one of the highest floors of any receiver in the class. Don’t be surprised if Bech is a top-50 selection come draft weekend.”
Bech, a converted tight end, is the best blocking wide receiver in this class and exhibits and excellent physical presence at 6-foot-2, 215 pounds. It sounds like the scouts are seeing that play out in Mobile as well, which bodes well for his prospects.
Unfortunately, the Big 12 also landed a player on the “Biggest Fallers” list too, as West Virginia offensive lineman Wyatt Milum struggled during the practice sessions this week.
“Milum was one of several offensive linemen whose NFL position was a question mark coming into the Senior Bowl. That was due, in part, to his relatively short arms, raising doubt about his ability to fend off edge defenders with NFL-caliber length.“
“Those concerns were proven legitimate, as Milum struggled at tackle during pass-blocking drills. By the end of the week, he found himself locked into snaps at guard, where he showed some athleticism in the run game but couldn’t quell the concerns about his pass blocking. If he is a guard moving forward, he has likely fallen out of first-round consideration after his performance this week.“
Milum was listed as the No. 37 overall prospect on PFF’s big board coming into the week, but it sounds as if he’s likely set to tumble after his performance this week.
