The Kansas Jayhawks and Baylor Bears continue Big 12 Conference men’s basketball action on Saturday, February 1st, 2025 in Waco, Texas.

Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. central on ESPN. The Jayhawks (15-5, 6-3 in Big 12) are currently No. 11, while the Bears (13-7, 5-4 in Big 12) are unranked.

Kansas followed up it’s double-overtime loss last weekend vs. Houston with a win over UCF mid-week, while Baylor beat Utah last weekend and then fell at BYU during their swing through the Beehive state last week. Kansas is looking to stay in the Big 12 race, three games back of Houston for first place.

Here is a preview of the game.

Kansas vs. Baylor Basketball Predictions

The Kansas Jayhawks are still ranked just outside the Top 10, but they don’t look like the dominant Jayhawks of old. Even their win over UCF earlier in the week was dicey, with the Knights in a position to pull off the upset at Allen Fieldhouse late. KU’s invincibility inside AFH feels like it’s no more, so maybe hitting the road isn’t the worst thing for this team right now.

Baylor has struggled due to a defense that can’t slow anyone down. Baylor is ranked 13th in defensive field goal percentage and is dead last in the Big 12 in three-point defense. They’re not a great rebounding or free throw shooting team either, ranked in the bottom half of the Big 12 in both categories.

In this game, Baylor will have the home court advantage, but I’ll take Kansas pouring it in, getting the offense up and running, and winning a high-scoring affair thanks to good ball movement (KU is 2nd in the Big 12 with 18.1 assists per game) in an up-tempo contest in Waco.

Kansas 80, Baylor 76
