The 2025 season might still be several months away, but college football fans aren’t exactly known for their patience. In fact, one of the redeeming qualities about a true die-hard is our inability to accept the offseason for what it is—we just keep churning until the next game.
FanDuel’s sportsbook has apparently caught on to this, too, as they’ve already started the process of releasing lines for some of the biggest season openers, even though there’s so much that could change between now and the last week of August.
Still, it’s hard not to look at the slate and wonder what the actual games will look like, especially with several Big 12 games among the bunch.
Iowa State and Kansas State will kickoff the 2025 season at the Aer Lingus College Football Classic, and the line for that contest dropped a couple of weeks ago, with K-State opening as a 1.5-point favorite.
However, as of today, the Wildcats have swollen to a 3.5-point favorite over the Cyclones, with the money line also increasing from KSU -122 to KSU -156.
As for the other three games listed on FanDuel, the Big 12 finds itself as the underdogs despite playing two of them at home. Auburn is currently a 1.5-point favorite at Baylor, Georgia Tech is a 4.5-point favorite at Colorado, and TCU is looking like it will be a 2.5-point underdog for their Monday night game against North Carolina.
There are several other marquee Big 12 games in the nonconference slate, but the first look at these lines suggests that, once again, the league will enter 2025 as an underdog.
