On Sunday morning, former Kansas State legend Michael Beasley was arrested for marijuana possession at the Manhattan Regional Airport.
Beasley made his return to Bramlage Coliseum on Saturday for Kansas State’s 81-73 win over Kansas in the Sunflower Showdown, where he sat courtside with fellow Wildcat legends.
According to Brian Peete, the director of Riley County Police Department, Beasley was found with roughly six grams of marijuana while attempting to board a flight back home.
Beasley made his return to Manhattan after 18 years away from the team. He was joined by former Wildcats like Barry Brown, DJ Johnson, Martavious Irving, Jordan Henriquez-Roberts, and many more.
In the matchup, Beasley and Brown were seen standing and cheering on the Wildcats for nearly the entire game. They witnessed the Wildcats take down Kansas with relative ease, earning their fifth-straight win of the season.
The marijuana charge is, unfortunately, nothing new to Beasley, as the Wildcat great had a brutal saga with drugs during his NBA career. He was arrested, fined, and ticketed multiple times throughout his 11-year career and spent time in rehab while missing games due to the NBA’s anti-drug policy.
