The Texas Tech Red Raiders and the Arizona State Sun Devils continue Big 12 Conference men’s basketball action on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas.
Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. central. Texas Tech (18-5, 9-3 in Big 12) is ranked No. 12 in the AP Top 25 while the Sun Devils (12-11, 3-9) are not ranked.
Texas Tech is as safe as it gets when it comes to an NCAA Tournament berth. In fact, per ESPN Bracketology, the Red Raiders are a Top 16 seed.
The Sun Devils have persisted on the NCAA Tournament bubble for weeks, but they are 2-8 in their last 10 games. Arizona State has fallen off ESPN’s bubble, but for now the Sun Devils are still being considered for the bubble.

Texas Tech vs. Arizona State Predictions
Texas Tech saw its seven-game winning streak end last weekend against Arizona, but AP voters have the Red Raiders one spot ahead of the Wildcats for now. The Red Raiders had a sub-par shooting night and Arizona shot better than 50%, a complete reversal of their first meeting.
As good as TTU’s top three players have been, the play of guards Elijah Hawkins (9.6 points, 6.3 assists) and Christian Anderson (9.5 points, 40% from the arc) have been instrumental in ensuring the Red Raiders have the depth they need to make a deep NCAA Tournament run.
Arizona State is hurting in more ways than one right now. Not only are the Sun Devils a loss away from dropping to .500 for the season. Guards Adam Miller and BJ Freeman missed Sunday’s game with OSU due to a suspension. Plus, freshman star Jayden Quaintance suffered an ankle injury in-game that forced him to leave the game.
With Freeman, Miller and Quaintance out, the Sun Devils were missing three of their top six scorers and it showed. Monitoring Quaintance’s status going into the game will be worth the time to some people.
Assuming Freeman returns, ASU will have their leading scorer back on the floor, as he averages 12.9 points per game.
Texas Tech 81, Arizona State 73
