The Iowa State Cyclones will be without two of their key players for Saturday’s big game against the Houston Cougars. Curtis Jones and Keshon Gilbert will be missing for the Cyclones on Saturday, due to illness and a muscle strain, respectively.
Jones is the team’s leading scorer at 17.2 points per game, while Gilbert is No. 2 at 14.1 points per game. The Cyclones are 11-4 in Big 12 play and are three games back of the Houston Cougars, who at 14-1 and are in first place by two games in the Big 12.

After a three game losing streak against Arizona, Kansas State and Kansas, Iowa State has won four in a row going into Saturday’s game. Houston has won 18 of its last 19 games since starting 4-3.
Saturday’s game will be the first meeting between the two teams since Iowa State’s 69-41 win over Houston in the 2024 Big 12 Tournament championship game.
