Iowa State vs. Houston Odds Swing Dramatically After Injuries Announced

The Iowa State Cyclones announced two huge losses to the line up for Saturday’s Top 10 match up at Houston, and the odds immediately moved heavily in favor of the Cougars.

Iowa State’s top two scorers Curtis Jones and Keshon Gilbert will be missing for the Cyclones on Saturday, due to illness and a muscle strain, respectively.

And as of Friday night, Houston is a 12.5-point favorite over the Cyclones. The Cougars opened up as a 7.5-point favorite in the game, which is being played in Houston.

 

By late morning Saturday, the line was shifting back a bit, to Houston -11.5 or 12, but the over/under kept dropping, down to 129.5 at some sports books.

The over/under has moved down as well from 134.5 to 131.5.

Jones is the team’s leading scorer at 17.2 points per game, while Gilbert is No. 2 at 14.1 points per game. The Cyclones are 11-4 in Big 12 play and are three games back of the Houston Cougars, who at 14-1 and are in first place by two games in the Big 12.

Saturday’s game will be the first meeting between the two teams since Iowa State’s 69-41 win over Houston in the 2024 Big 12 Tournament championship game.

College GameDay will be broadcasting from Houston on Saturday morning, with tip off set for 1:00 p.m. on ESPN.
