Saturday’s matchup between BYU and Arizona made countless headlines due to some questionable calls from the officiating crew, and fans reacted with some heightened aggression.
From sports betters calling for Tony Padilla’s crew to be disbanded to Arizona fans heckling the BYU Basketball team and its fans on the way out the door, this game had it all.
Arizona Athletic Director Desireé Reed-Francois commented on the situation late on Saturday night, saying, “Following tonight’s men’s basketball game, it was brought to our attention that an unacceptable chant occurred. While walking to the exits after the 96-95 loss to BYU, Arizona fans started a chant, poking fun at the Mormon faith. Naturally, the act didn’t go over well on social media, and here are some of the top reactions to the situation.
