We’re a month into the 2025 college softball season, and conference play is set to begin this weekend all around the country.

On Tuesday, ESPN and USA Softball released their latest Top 25 Poll, and, as expected, the SEC dominated it. The SEC took each of the first five spots and eight of the top 11, while 13 of the conference’s 14 programs appeared in the poll.

The Big 12 is holding strong at three teams in the top 15, and their top-ranked squad is up several spots after another impressive weekend.

Arizona (21-2) was one of the biggest risers in this week’s poll, moving up three spots to No. 7 after putting together a perfect weekend that included a 9-8 (10 inn.) win over fourth-ranked UCLA and an 11-3 run-rule victory over No. 23 San Diego State.

Oklahoma State (14-4) moved up a couple of spots to No. 13 after taking care of business in Wichita, Kansas, with a couple of ranked wins against Nebraska and Missouri. The Pokes have now won 10 in a row after starting 4-4 and appear to be rounding into shape right in time for Big 12 play.

Meanwhile, Texas Tech (18-6) is headed in the wrong direction ahead of conference play, falling two spots to No. 15 after going 3-3 last week. Losses to North Texas and Idaho State were certainly concerning, but to their credit, the Red Raiders rebounded with dominant performances against Princeton and Texas State. Their 7-2 win over Texas A&M on Saturday was huge, and they came up just short of sweeping the Aggies with a 7-6 loss on Sunday.

Here’s a look at the entire poll from Tuesday, March 4.
