The Wildcats enter the 2025 season after finishing 9-4 under first-year starter Avery Johnson last fall. The group retained the bulk of their roster, with their biggest losses being filled adequately through the transfer portal, high school ranks, and internal development.
In his first year at the helm, Johnson broke K-State’s single-season passing touchdowns record with 25 through the air, alongside seven scores and 605 yards in the rushing attack. He made some young player mistakes in 2024, mixed with moments of superstar potential, and if he can take a step forward next fall with a rebuilt wide receiver room, the Wildcats have a real shot at reaching Arlington for a date in the Big 12 title game.
