According to a report from Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro, Arizona State men’s basketball coach Bobby Hurley is expected to return for the 2025-26 season.
Hurley has spent 10 seasons as the Sun Devils’ head coach and has compiled a record of 168-149, no conference titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances, the last coming in 2023. ASU finished under .500 each of the last two seasons.
Hurley’s current contract runs through next season after he agreed to a two year extension back in 2023, but is not expected to be extended again before 2025-26.
Arizona State finished the regular season with a 13-18 overall record and a 4-16 mark in Big 12 play, giving them the No. 15 seed in the Big 12 Tournament.
The Sun Devils faced Kansas State on Tuesday night in the opening round of the tournament, coming up short in a 71-66 defeat. The loss will mark the end of the 2024-25 season for ASU, sending them into the offseason with a 13-19 record and some major questions heading into a make-or-break season for Hurley.
