It didn’t come easy, but the Baylor Bears found a way to hang on for a 75-72 win over Mississippi State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday afternoon.
With the win, Baylor (20-14) moves on to the second round, where it will face No. 1 Duke for a spot in the Sweet Sixteen. On the other hand, the loss sends Mississippi State back to Starkville (MS) for the offseason.
Losing certainly isn’t easy for anyone, but Mississippi State fan and Barstool podcast host Brandon Walker is taking this one particularly tough.
After kicking a box and flipping a trash can—which he did proceed to pick up and put back in its place—Walker went on a rant that any grieving sports fan can relate to at some point or another.
“Ever since I got this job, I’ve wanted to put Mississippi State on the map,” Walker said. “And they never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever come through for me. Ever. Ever, ever.”
Then, he goes back to being angry when a co-worker flashes a smirk his direction.
It’s a tough spot to be in, and Walker is handling it like any good fan should.
This is a great reminder that March might be a wonderful time of year for most fans, but it’s an incredibly painful experience for others. Simply put, March isn’t for everyone, and this year, it’s not for Mr. Walker.
Oh, and to make matters worse, it appears that Walker’s tirade left him with a broken toe.
Not a great way to start the weekend.
