On Thursday, Jamie Dixon and the TCU Horned Frogs added their first player through the transfer portal with the commitment of Iowa guard Brock Harding.

Harding entered the transfer portal with news of Fran McCaffrey’s departure and will head to Ft. Worth with multiple years of eligibility remaining.

Harding spent the previous two seasons in Iowa City, where he blossomed into a reliable starter. He saw action in all 34 games for the Hawkeyes in 2024-25, posting 8.8 points, 5.3 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game on 45.4% shooting from the field.

The Illinois native was listed as a four-star transfer portal prospect by the 247Sports index and checked in as the 74th-best player available. He was also listed as the 13th-ranked point guard in his portal class.

The transfer portal officially opens on Monday, March 24, 2025. According to NCAA data, 1,296 FBS basketball players entered the transfer portal in 2023-24 school year, with 864 (66.7%) undergraduates and 432 (33.3%) graduate transfers. Of the entrants, 70% reported that they enrolled in another school, 6% withdrew their names from the portal, and 23% are still active, transferred to a non-NCAA school, or left their sport.
