Former Missouri quarterback Drew Pyne has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. Pyne, who previously played for Notre Dame and Arizona State, spent the 2024 season with the Tigers.

He has one year of eligibility left due to his redshirt at Arizona State in 2023. In 2024 with Mizzou, Pyne appeared in six games last season. But his most memorable moment, by far, included leading the Tigers in his only start to a win over the Oklahoma Sooners on November 9th. For the season, Pyne threw for 391 yards and three touchdowns to three interceptions on 61.2-percent passing during the 2024 season.

Pyne had his best college football season in 2022, where he went 8-2 in 10 games as Notre Dame’s starting quarterback. He threw for 2,021 yards and 22 touchdowns to six interceptions on 64.6-percent passing in his final season at Notre Dame. After leaving for Arizona State, Pyne has been unable to re-establish himself as a starter.

According to 247Sports, Pyne was a four-star prospect, per the 247 Composite, ranking as the No. 8 pro-style quarterback recruit in the Class of 2020, and the No. 2 player in Connecticut.

His decision to transfer leaves Missouri’s quarterback position open for competition between Beau Pribula and Sam Horn for the upcoming season.
