After one disappointing season in Lawrence, Kansas shooting guard AJ Storr is entering the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report from On3.

Storr started his career with the St. John’s Red Storm in 2022-23 and transferred to Wisconsin after one season. During his 2023-24 season with the Badgers, Storr earned second-team All-Big Ten honors after averaging a team-high 16.8 points per game.

When he transferred to Kansas ahead of the 2024-25 season, Storr was expected to be a guard who could help lead an offensive attack for the Jayhawks, but it never came to fruition.

In fact, Storr hardly had an impact for KU this season, averaging just 15.7 minutes per game and 6.1 points per contest. He had double-digit figures in just eight games this season, and just two in their final 15 games.

His season-high of 19 points came against UCF in the Big 12 Championship Quarterfinals, an he closed out the year with a 15-point performance against Arkansas in the NCAA Tournament.

While Storr didn’t have the year that he’d hoped for, there was a contingency of Jayhawk fans hoping he could be a difference-maker in 2025-26, especially with some of the new talent coming in.

However, now it’s clear that he feels better about his chances elsewhere, and brings the tally of exiting Jayhawks to six.
