On Sunday, Jamie Dixon and the TCU Horned Frogs made a splash addition in the transfer portal with the commitment of Providence transfer Jayden Pierre.
Pierre, a 6-foot-2 guard from Elizabeth, New Jersey, spent the past three seasons with the Friars, where he developed into a star in Kim English’s backcourt.
Last season with the Friars, Pierre posted 12.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game while connecting on 39.8% of shots from the field. He also shot 34.2% from three-point land and 79.4% from the charity stripe.
Coming out of Long Island Lutheran in the Class of 2022, Pierre was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 139th-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the 22nd-ranked player at his position and the top-ranked player in the state of New Jersey.
The transfer portal officially opened on Monday, March 24, 2025.
