BYU freshman guard Egor Demin will announce whether he will enter the 2025 NBA draft or return to BYU for a second season on Tuesday morning, but it appears ESPN has the scoop on his decision.
According to a report from Jonathan Givony, Demin will forego the remainder of his college eligibility and enter his name into June’s NBA Draft.
Demin is ranked as the No. 12 prospect in ESPN’s latest NBA Draft projections and was selected to the All-Big 12 Freshman team after averaging 10.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game in 2024-25. He was an integral part of the Cougars’ first Sweet 16 run since 2011, and the BYU faithful had hoped he would return for another season to play with incoming No. 1 overall prospect AJ Dybantsa.
Demin started in 33 games for BYU this season, and at just 19 years old, his potential is only just being realized.
Noted by many as the most-talented passer in this draft class, Demin is an incredibly unique talent at 6-foot-9. He’s got incredible upside, and it appears that the possibilities for what he could become at the professional level will be answered sooner rather than later.
Demin will officially announce his decision at a press conference at 10 a.m. MDT Tuesday in Provo before appearing on “BYU Sports Nation.”
