On Wednesday afternoon, Grant McCasland and the Texas Tech Red Raiders added a new name in the transfer portal with the commitment of Santa Clara guard Tyeree Bryan.
Bryan, a 6-foot-5 senior from Orlando, Florida, spent the past two seasons with the Broncos, where he developed into a star in the backcourt.
Last season at Santa Clara, the Florida native posted 10.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game on 46.3% shooting from the field. He also connected on 42.9% of his shots from three-point land and 65.3% from the free-throw line.
Coming out of Olympia High School in the Class of 2021, Bryan was listed as an unranked prospect by most major recruiting services. Three seasons after committing to Charlston Southern, Bryan earned a four-star rating by the 247Sports index and currently checks in as the 164th-best player available.
The transfer portal officially opened on Monday, March 24, 2025. According to NCAA data, 1,296 FBS basketball players entered the transfer portal in the 2023-24 school year, with 864 (66.7%) undergraduates and 432 (33.3%) graduate transfers. Of the entrants, 70% reported that they enrolled in another school, 6% withdrew their names from the portal, and 23% are still active, transferred to a non-NCAA school, or left their sport.
