Big 12 fans will be watching one of LeBron James’ son, once he steps on campus. Bryce James announced on social media on Wednesday that he had committed to the Arizona Wildcats.
The Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon shooting guard is a 2025 prospect who chose the Wildcats over offers from Duquesne and Ohio State, among others. According to 247Sports, James is listed as a three-star prospect, and is the No. 47 shooting guard in the country and No. 30 recruit in California.
According to Wildcat Authority’s Jason Scheer, “Bryce James took a visit to Arizona for the Duke game. The family was impressed with Lloyd’s patience and ability to develop players. Family went to nearly every Pac-12 campus and came away impressed the most with Arizona.”
Bryce doesn’t get as much attention as his brother Bronny James, who is currently playing for the LA Lakers after spending a year at USC, but there is still high-end potential there for the son of one of the greatest basketball players ever.
“Bryce James is the son of Lebron James and that means, like his older brother Bronny, he’s under the microscope,” 247Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein writes. “Bryce needs to be given time and space to run his own race though. He may not be the dynamic athlete or playmaker some expect at first, but he is a fundamentally sound player with solid perimeter size and a good early skill-set.”
James is the second commitment in the 2025 class after Dwayne Aristode. It’s believed that James could also help recruit some high-end prospects for 2025, as he is friends with many of them.
