One key injury timeline that Big 12 fans have been eagerly watching over the past few weeks has been the status of Iowa State’s Milan Momcilovic.

The Cyclones’ star forward has missed nearly one month of basketball due to a hand injury, but that streak appears to be coming to an end on Saturday.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel took to X on Saturday morning to announce that Momcilovic will return to the court at home against TCU at 11:00 a.m. central.

“Iowa State star forward Milan Momcilovic will return from missing nearly a month with a hand injury to play for No. 8 Iowa State against TCU today, coach TJ Otzelberger told ESPN.”

The addition is big for Iowa State as the group finds themselves in limbo in their last few outings. The team is on a three-game losing streak with losses to No. 20 Arizona, Kansas State, and No. 16 Kansas, where they were outscored 235-188.

This season, the Wisconsin native is averaging 10.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game on 46.6% shooting from the field. He’s also developed a reputation as the team’s best shooter from deep, connecting on 44.3% of his three-point attempts.

The last update on Momcilovic’s injury showed signs of progress, with head coach T.J. Otzelberger saying, “Cast is off,” Otzelberger said. “He’s doing strengthening exercises. I don’t know where we’re at in that time right now. What are we at? Week three? I would say four [weeks] is probably aggressive, but we’ll see.”

Aggressive appears to be the name of the game as the Cyclones get their star back after missing roughly four weeks of basketball.
